1 Killed and 1 Arrested in Long Beach DUI Accident on The City Drive and 5 Freeway
LONG BEACH, CA (September 23, 2021) – Tuesday night, authorities arrested Eric Granit after a fatal crash on The City Drive.
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 10:15 p.m. Moreover, it occurred at the area of The City Drive and the 5 Freeway off-ramp.
Reports revealed that a motorcyclist ran a red light. Then, the motorcycle collided with the right rear passenger side of an SUV.
Furthermore, responders pronounced the motorcyclist, a Huntington Beach man, dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, officials arrested the SUV driver, 50-year-old Eric Granit. He’s now on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Granit was being held on $100,000 bail.
