Eric Carrillo, Susanna Angeles Dead in Fillmore Accident on Highway 126 near Spalding Drive
FILLMORE, CA (February 22, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, two people died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 126 near Spalding Drive.
The incident occurred just after 2:35 p.m. eastbound on Highway 126, near Spalding Drive. According to the CHP, it happened between Santa Paula and Fillmore.
Meanwhile, the Ventura County Fire Department officials confirmed that the crash involved three vehicles.
According to the firefighters, they found a dead person and two patients with critical injuries. Also, several victims suffered minor injuries. Thus, the crews used “jaws of life” equipment to free victims from the wreckage.
However, before 3:00 p.m., one of the patients in critical condition succumbed to injuries. Crews added that the fatal cases needed extrication.
On the other hand, an ambulance transported the other critically injured patient to Ventura County Medical Center. Moreover, two parties with minor injuries refused medical treatment.
The initial reports revealed that a westbound vehicle drove across the eastbound lanes. Thus, leading to a head-on crash. However, the authorities haven’t confirmed this information.
Later reports reveal one of the victims, Oxnard man Eric Anthony Carrillo, 27, drive a 2013 BMW 325i at the time of the crash. He apparently let his vehicle drift into the opposite lanes, imitating the deadly accident.
The second victim, Susanna Angeles, 34, of Fowler, drove a 2008 Smart Fortwo. Paramedics also declared her dead at the scene.
