Lewis County, WA (June 26, 2022) – On Saturday, at about 11:30 p.m., Eric Campbell, 44, of Pe Ell, Lewis County, died in a vehicle crash on State Route 6.
Officers say Campbell and his passenger, a 50-year-old Pe Ell woman, were eastbound on the freeway, west of Pe Ell.
At the same time, a 17-year-old Raymond boy was westbound.
The teen driver from Raymond swerved to avoid a deer and slammed into Campbell’s vehicle.
Sadly, Eric Campbell died at the crash scene while his passenger sustained injuries. The paramedics rushed her to Providence Centralia Hospital.

Our Attorneys Can Help the Bereaved
Washington’s road accident rate continues to increase, rather than decrease, despite the additional safety features on newer vehicle models.
The increasing crash rate reflects that auto accidents are becoming rampant. Incidents like the Lewis County fatal collision are a leading cause of death for individuals ages 5-64.
As a matter of fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), two out of three motorists will be involved in an injury accident during their life.
