Discovery Bay Man Killed in Collision on Highway 4 near Hillcrest Avenue Kills 56-Year-Old Man

Antioch, CA (September 11, 2021) – A crash on Highway 4 involving four vehicles left a Discovery Bay resident, Eqbal Khan, dead on Friday afternoon.

The fatal Antioch collision happened on September 10 on Highway 4, east of Hillcrest Avenue at about 1:38 p.m.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and reported that the incident involved four vehicles. According to the report, a white Infiniti G37 collided with a semi-truck and a Chevrolet Tahoe.

As a result, the 56-year-old driver of the Tahoe from Discovery Bay lost control of his vehicle and swerved across all lanes to the right side of the road.

Then, the Tahoe crashed into the guardrail and went back into the lanes where it was hit by the semi-truck. Due to the impact, a Toyota Corolla hit the Tahoe as it continued across the lanes towards the center divider.

The driver of the Tahoe, Mr. Khan, succumbed to his injuries. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroners Office confirmed the crash only resulted in one death.

CHP said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the accident. Furthermore, they are asking anyone who might have witnessed the incident to contact Contra Costa CHP in Martinez, (925) 646-4980.
