Kimberly Rene Martin Arrested after DUI Accident that Killed 23-Year-Old Tustin Man
COSTA MESA, CA (May 1, 2018) – A fatal three-car collision took place on Mesa Drive, early Tuesday morning. The deceased victim was later identified as 23-year-old Enrique Orlando Marquez of Tustin.
Costa Mesa Police arrived at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Mesa Drive and Santa Ana Avenue, after receiving reports of a crash at around 12:20 AM.
According to witnesses, a red Honda was traveling west on Mesa Drive when a white Volkswagen SUV with two passengers sped through a red light and T-boned a Honda. The Honda, driven by Marquez, then struck a third vehicle. The 23-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the third vehicle was uninjured in the incident.
Police identified the driver of the SUV as 24-year-old Kimberly Rene Martin of Costa Mesa. Authorities are still investigating how the crash occurred, but police said alcohol was involved and that Martin was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
