Apolinar Lopez Involved in Adelanto Fatal Crash
Adelanto, CA (August 31, 2022) – On Sunday, Enrique Meza, a 33-year-old Adelanto man, sustained fatal injuries in a vehicle crash on Highway 395.
The fatal traffic incident happened at about 1:19 p.m. at the intersection with Chamberlaine Way.
Right away, the emergency rescuers responded to the scene and located Meza trapped inside a silver 2018 Chevrolet Malibu. Rescuers from the fire department extracted and rushed him to an area hospital where he died.
On the other hand, Apolinar Lopez of Adelanto, the 18-year-old driver of a white Toyota Tacoma, did not sustain injuries from the collision.
According to the authorities investigating this case, Apolinar Lopez was northbound on the freeway when he ran a red light at the intersection. At the same time, Enrique was eastbound crossing the highway. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
“Distracted driving is believed to be a factor in the collision,” states the sheriff’s department.
