Three Injured in Rear-End Collision, Jennifer Whitesell Cited
MATTAWA, WA (November 8, 2018) – On Thursday, three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on State Route 243, just two miles out of Mattawa.
According to officials with the Washington State Patrol, 23-year-old Jennifer Whitesell was driving a 1994 Honda Civic northbound on SR 243 when she rear-ended a Honda Accord that had slowed down to make a left turn.
The driver of the Honda, 40-year-old Enrique Ailon, and his passenger, 41-year-old Fidel Martinez, were transported by ambulance to Richland Hospital. Whitesell was taken to the Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. There is no update on either person’s current medical condition, or the injuries they sustained.
Whitesell was cited at the scene for following too closely to traffic ahead. No additional information has been disclosed, as the authorities continue to investigate.
