Modesto Teen Emmarose Sanders Killed in 5 Freeway Crash
Gorman, CA (May 22, 2021) – On Thursday, 16-year-old Emmarose Sanders died and five were injured in a solo vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
Officers received the accident report at around 12:48 a.m. south of Gorman School Road.
When the authorities arrived, they pronounced the teen dead on the scene, which took place north of Lancaster.
Emergency rescuers took five victims to an area hospital for injury treatment.
Two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, incurred moderate injuries in the 5 Freeway accident. The other occupants, one 18-years-old and two aged 19, also sustained moderate injuries.
Moreover, officers said a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche was northbound on the freeway when the 19-year-old driver abruptly turned the vehicle to the right.
It crashed with the asphalt curb, fell down an embankment, overturned and landed on the right shoulder.
Apparently, during the overturning, Emmarose was thrown onto the shoulder and died at the scene.
Authorities are still investigating this Gorman crash.
