36-Year-Old Lancaster Man Dies when His Minivan Overturns on Angeles Forest Highway in Palmdale
PALMDALE, CA (July 19, 2019) – A man was killed following a rollover crash Friday morning in Palmdale.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m., at Angeles Forest Highway and Pacifico Mountain Road. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
A 2007 Chevrolet Uplander was traveling south, when it failed to negotiate a right curve and lost control. The minivan then left the eastbound side of the roadway and overturned several times before traveling a down a steep embankment.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Emilio Alvarez of Lancaster. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Angeles Forest Highway was closed for about four hours while the crash was being investigated. However, the roadway has since reopened.
