Injuries Reported in Santa Maria Accident near Broadway and Morrison Avenue
SANTA MARIA, CA (December 8, 2022) – Tuesday night, authorities arrested Emiliano Sanchez Najera after a DUI crash near Broadway and Morrison Avenue.
The incident happened at 9:10 p.m. near Broadway and Morrison Avenue.
Initially, officers responded to a traffic crash involving two vehicles. Then, two people in one of the vehicles pushed their vehicle out of the roadway.
However, 32-year-old Emiliano Sanchez Najera of Santa Maria driving the third vehicle headed north on Broadway.
Then, Sanchez-Najera’s vehicle crashed with the two pedestrians and the vehicle.
Then, one of the pedestrians suffered major head injuries.
Afterward, the second sustained major injuries to his lower extremities.
Then, responders took both of them to a hospital for treatment, and are expected to survive.
Also, officers noted that one of the drivers from the initial collision drove while intoxicated.
They also determined that Sanchez-Najera, the driver from the second collision, drove under the influence of alcohol. Thus, they arrested and booked him for DUI.
