Emelda Moreno Dies in ATV Crash South of 6600 block of Shawnee [Midland, TX]

1 Injured in Midland Deadly ATV Accident

Midland, TX (October 17, 2024)Emelda Moreno, 42, of Weatherford, was killed in an ATV crash south of the 6600 block of Shawnee Tuesday night.

It was about 11:47 p.m. when the accident involving a Polaris 1000 ATV four-wheeler happened.

Officers said the driver and rear passenger were westbound when the ATV collided with a petroleum pipeline marker.

Neither of the two were wearing a helmet.

Rescuers arrived at the scene and rushed Sameul Richard Merril, 31, to an area hospital. 

The authorities located Emelda Moreno found 100 feet west of the impact point. They declared her deceased at the scene.  

Troopers are investigating who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
