60-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in South Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 5, 2019) – Authorities identified 60-year-old Elvia Bercian as the woman struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Century Boulevard, Saturday evening.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened, at about 7:00 PM. Bercian attempted to cross the street southbound along Century Boulevard. There, an eastbound Toyota Corolla struck her near Baring Cross Street.
She lied motionless in the road before being struck a second time by a white Chevy pickup truck. A short time later, a third vehicle, described as a red KIA Soul, also struck her.
Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the drivers of the Toyota Corolla and KIA Soul both remained at the scene. However, the driver of the pickup truck did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
Authorities are offering a reward of $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest and conviction to the case. Anyone with information can reach Detective Moreno or Detective Gonzales at (323) 421-2500.
