Eloy Romero Serrano and 2 Others Killed in State Route 26 Collision [Othello, WA]

Othello, WA (July 17, 2023) – On Saturday night, Eloy Romero Serrano, 78, Jesus Perez Escamilla, 21, and Antonia Rodriguez Barragan, 63, were all killed in a State Route 26 collision.

According to the Washington State Patrol, two vehicles were involved in the collision. The first vehicle was occupied by one person, a 30-year-old man, while the second vehicle was occupied by Serrano, Escamilla, and Barragan.

The first vehicle swerved into the westbound lane of the freeway and collided head-on with the second vehicle. As a result, the second vehicle traveled over the westbound shoulder and into the ditch below.

The occupants of the second vehicle were killed in the collision and the driver of the first vehicle was transported to Kedlac Medical Center.

Investigating officers said drugs and/or alcohol seem to be involved in the State Route 26 collision but the details have not yet been clarified.
