Elizabeth Ramirez of Toppenish Dies in Head-On Crash on Interstate 82 [Yakima County, WA]

Yakima County, WA (March 27, 2022) – On Friday, at about 11 p.m., 23-year-old Elizabeth Ramirez of Toppenish and 20-year-old Leon Perez of Yakima, died in a head-on crash on Interstate 82.

According to the investigators, Perez was driving the wrong way down the freeway and struck head-on the vehicle driven by Ramirez.

Unfortunately,  Ramirez lost her life at the crash scene. 

Moreover, the paramedics took Perez to Harborview where he later died succumbed to his injuries.

WSP said both drivers were wearing their seatbelts during the accident.

Meanwhile, officers are investigating if drugs or alcohol played a factor in this fatal collision.
