Woman Dies in Riverside County Pedestrian Crash
Riverside County, CA (March 30, 2024) – Elizabeth Puentes, a 22-year-old Hemet resident, was killed following a S San Jacinto Avenue collision Wednesday.
It was before 8 p.m. when the pedestrian accident happened south of Shaver Street in San Jacinto.
Investigators said Puentes stepped into traffic lanes at the same time as a northbound sedan was approaching.
The sedan driver did not have time to brake and struck Puentes.
County Fire paramedics located Puentes clinging to life. They rushed her to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where she succumbed to her injuries four hours later.
Moreover, the sedan driver was questioned by the authorities but was not arrested.
