Elisha Cooper Hurt in Suspected DUI Crash on I-90 [Cle Elum, WA]

Cle Elum, WA (October 8, 2024) On Sunday, 25-year-old Elisha Cooper of Spokane and 27-year-old Dangelo Basil of Victorville were hurt in a suspected DUI crash on I-90.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the single-vehicle crash happened on Interstate 90 near milepost 54.

Reports say that 2 people were injured in the accident that happened roughly 26 miles west of Cle Elum.

WSP says that Basil was driving a blue 2007 Kia Optima when he failed to navigate a curve. The car hit a barrier on the southbound shoulder, crossed all lanes, and struck the northbound barrier before coming to a halt.

Both Basil and his passenger, Cooper sustained injuries. They were both wearing seatbelts and were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The vehicle was totaled and later removed by Easton Towing.

Authorities are investigating the crash, and preliminary reports suggest that drugs or alcohol may have been involved. Charges against the driver are pending as the investigation continues.
