Elisabeth Hildebrand of Seminole Killed in Highway 214 Collision [Gaines County, TX]

HWY 214 Vehicle Collision Kills Seminole Women

Gaines County, TX (August 16, 2023) – On Monday evening, Elisabeth Hildebrand, 55, and Katharina Forese, 60, both of Seminole, were killed in a Highway 214 collision.

DPS stated that Luis Carlos Ruiz, 40, of Carlos, New Mexico, was northbound on Highway 214 with a trailer when he attempted to turn left on FM 2056. Officers said he struck a southbound vehicle driven by Elisabeth Hildebrand.

DPS said Ruiz did not yield the right-of-way to Hildebrand who was declared dead at the scene.

Katharina Forese, a passenger in Hildebrand’s vehicle was transported to Yoakum County Medical Center, where she died.

Investigating officers said all individuals were wearing seatbelts during the accident.

Officers said Ruiz did not sustain injuries from this accident.
