East 1st Street Collision Kills 93-Year-Old Woman

San Diego, CA (February 22, 2023) – On February 9, Elisa Martinez, 93, of National City, sustained fatal injuries following a National City Boulevard vehicle crash.

The traffic collision took place at about 11:36 a.m. at the intersection with East 1st Street.

Reports said the transport van Martinez was a passenger of collided with a Nissan sedan before it struck a street light.

Immediately, responding officers removed Martinez from the van and gave life-saving measures but Martinez succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The examiner’s office confirmed Martinez’s manner of death as an accident.
