Honda Driver Arrested in Oxnard Fatal Collision
Oxnard, CA (November 3, 2022) – On Tuesday, Elijah Franco, 19, of Oxnard, sustained fatal injuries in a Pleasant Valley Road DUI crash.
The deadly crash happened around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection with Terrace Avenue.
According to the officers, Elijah Franco was riding a westbound 2022 Kawasaki Ninja on Pleasant Valley Road.
At the same time, a 2017 Honda Accord driver was eastbound on Pleasant Valley Road and made a left turn onto Terrace Avenue. While making the turn, the two drivers collided at the intersection.
The authorities transported Elijah Franco to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Moreover, officers evaluated the Accord driver for DUI and determined he was driving impaired. As a result, the authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter. They booked him into county jail with bail set at $505,000, according to police.
As of noon Wednesday, there are no charges filed by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office to the Honda driver.
