Elijah Auld and Kinzy Jones Killed in Collision on Highway 155 [Upshur County, TX]

Upshur County, TX (November 10, 2023) – Elijah Auld, 20, and, Kinzy Jones, 21, both from Gilmer, were killed in a traffic collision on Highway 155 Monday.

It was around 11 a.m. when Aulud was driving a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Impala in front of a 2020 Freightliner truck tractor towing a trailer. 

Aulud began to slow down to make a left turn onto Bluebell Road but yielded to a 2016 Honda Civic who was traveling in the opposite direction.

 The Freightliner driver failed to control their speed and rear-ended the Impala pushing it into the path of the Civic.

Unfortunately, Auld, and their passenger, Jones, were declared deceased at the scene. 

The Civic driver, Kailey Wildt, 37, also of Gilmer, was taken UT Health Hospital in Tyler with incapacitating injuries. 

The Freightliner driver did not sustain injuries from the Texas collision.

Officers are investigating at this time.
