Elias Beltran Hospitalized Following Indio Boulevard Hit-and-Run Accident
Indio, CA (February 05, 2021) On Thursday, a hit-and-run crash on Fred Waring Drive left 5-year-old Elias Beltran and his pregnant mom hospitalized.
The Indio Police Department along with Cal Fire confirms that the 2-car crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Fred Waring Drive and Indio Boulevard.
Moreover, authorities say that the child is with serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.
Meanwhile, paramedics took the pregnant woman to the hospital via ground ambulance.
Police are on the lookout for the other motorist, who drove a black Toyota Highlander. They describe him as an adult Hispanic man, wearing black clothes.
Furthermore, Indio PD shut down several roads and lanes in the vicinity, but everything was back open by 6 p.m.
Rafael Beltran, Elias’ father, said his son was placed on a ventilator and is currently in the intensive care unit.
Paramedics took Rafael’s wife to a Riverside hospital. Even so, she was discharged from the hospital by Friday.
