61-Year-Old Apple Valley Man Injured in Pedestrian Collision near Sequoia Street
APPLE VALLEY, CA (September 12, 2018) – A man was injured Wednesday evening following a hit-and-run crash near Sequoia Street. The victim was later identified as 61-year-old Eli Espinosa, a resident of Apple Valley.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 7:45 PM in the 11900 block of Kiowa Road. Apple Valley Fire, American Medical Response (AMR), and Apple Valley deputies responded to the scene and located the pedestrian suffering from a broken leg.
Paramedics transported the victim via ground ambulance to St Mary’s Medical Center and later airlifted him via County Fire’s helicopter H325 to the Loma Linda University Medical Center. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and to identify the hit-and-run driver/ vehicle involved.
