MIDWAY CITY, CA (February 9, 2020) – An elderly woman died in a pedestrian crash Sunday evening in Midway City.
 
The fatal crash happened a little before 7:00 p.m. on Highway 39 at McFadden Avenue, just in front of WSM supermarket.
 
CHP officials did not provide details of how the crash occurred but firefighters responded to set up a traffic break and provide life-saving measures.
 
A coroner was also called and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. They did not release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
The precise circumstances that led to the fatal accident remain unclear at this time. Further investigation is underway.
