Fatal Solo-Car Accident Reported near Rainbow Glen Road
FALLBROOK, CA (April 6, 2019) – An elderly woman was killed in a crash on northbound 15 Freeway, Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collisions took place at approximately 3:45 PM. In addition, it happened a little more than a mile south of the Rainbow Valley Boulevard exit.
Based on an initial report, the victim’s Chevrolet Aveo veered off the right shoulder of the freeway. Her vehicle careened down an embankment, struck a tree and rolled before coming to rest in the shoulder of Old Highway 395.
The victim died at the scene. She was only identified as a 73-year-old woman. Her name was not yet released.
Investigators ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash. Officials ordered a clean-up at the scene and began their investigation, but no additional information has been released to the public.
