Man Dead in Indio Pedestrian Accident

 
INDIO, CA (April 23, 2019) – An elderly man died after a vehicle hit him, leading to a partial closure of a major road on April 21.
 
Authorities received reports of the incident before 6:00 a.m. on Monroe Street near Requa Avenue, just north of 10 Freeway.
 
The old man walked outside of the crosswalk when the vehicle hit him. Meanwhile, the female driver stayed at the area and helped with officers.
 
Authorities ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision.
 
During the investigation, police closed the northbound lanes of Monroe Street.
