70-Year-Old Rio Nido Man Fatally Struck by Motorcycle near Orchard Road
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (July 10, 2018) – An elderly man was killed Tuesday afternoon following a pedestrian collision on River Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at about 4:15 PM at 15320 River Road, near Orchard Street. A 70-year-old man of Rio Nido was walking south across the road when an eastbound motorcycle struck him.
The victim was rushed to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by the medical staff. His identity has not been released, pending notification o next of kin. The motorcyclist, 28-year-old Geno Quecke of Petaluma, was also transported to the same hospital after sustaining injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
Authorities ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible contributing factors in the deadly collision. No additional information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
