Big Rig Involved in Fatal T-Bone Accident in Keyes
KEYES, CA (August 12, 2019) – An elderly man died in a broadside crash Monday afternoon just off Highway 99 in Keyes.
The man drove a blue Ford pickup truck northbound on Foote Road when he ran a stop sign at Keyes Road around 12:38 p.m.
An eastbound big rig, which did not have a stop sign, broadsided the Ford, then hit another big rig that waited to turn south onto Foote from the westbound lane of Keyes.
As a result, the driver of the Ford sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His name was not immediately available pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
Neither big rig driver was injured.
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s office is working to identify the deceased.
Keyes Road closed in the area for several hours while the CHP investigated the crash.
