69-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Hospitalized after Collision on Beyer Boulevard in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 14, 2020) – Sunday evening, a 69-year-old man sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on Beyer Boulevard.
Officers responded to the collision just before 8:45 p.m., after receiving multiple 911 calls in the area. Dispatchers arrived in the 3000 block of Beyer Boulevard, shortly after.
According to San Diego Police Officials, a 19-year-old male was traveling north in a 2001 Mercedes-Benz C240. There, he struck the pedestrian while he was walking south in the No. 1 lane.
The collision left the pedestrian with open fractures to his left tibia, fibula and other injuries. Paramedics took him to an area hospital for further treatment. However, there has been no update on his current condition.
Moreover, the surrounding area on Beyer Boulevard was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
Reports confirmed that the driver remained uninjured. Furthermore, authorities do not believe that alcohol and drugs played a role.
