1 Injured in Kearny Mesa Pedestrian Accident
KEARNY MESA, CA (March 29, 2020) – An auto-pedestrian accident caused an elderly man to break his leg on Convoy Street on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the crash happened in the 4300 block of Convoy Street at around 6:30 p.m.
First of all, the 61-year-old man began walking across the street from the west sidewalk to the east sidewalk in Kearny Mesa.
Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department revealed that the pedestrian suffered from inebriation when he walked into the path of a 2005 Acura TL in the No. 1 lane.
As a result, the vehicle struck the man. He thus sustained a broken leg and cuts to his head. Moreover, medical responders transported him to a hospital for treatment.
However, Heims clarified that the pedestrian’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old female driver of the Acura was uninjured from the incident.
