73-Year-Old Man Dead and Four Others Injured in Car Crash near Colorado Springs
EL PASO COUNTY, CO (March 18, 2018) – On Sunday afternoon, a two-car collision on Highway 115 leaves one dead and four injured.
According to the police, a 2004 Dodge Ram was traveling south on Highway 115 around 4:45 PM when a 2010 Toyota Prius shifted lanes from Roca Roja Road and crashed into it. The impact of the collision killed the 73-year-old Toyota driver, who was not secured by a seatbelt.
Family members in the Dodge Ram sustained minor injuries in the crash. Michael Ore was driving the vehicle while his wife, Ashley Ore; and their two kids were passengers. They were transported to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.
The deceased driver remains unidentified, pending notification of his family. The Colorado State Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the accident, and encourages any witnesses with more information to contact Trooper Eric Zachareas at 719-544-2424.
