Ehlani Barraza Killed in Hesperia Semi-Truck Accident
Oak Hills, CA (August 02, 2021) – On Sunday, a rollover crash on Interstate 15 claimed the life of a four-month-old Salinas resident, Ehlani Barraza.
The fatal Hesperia crash happened at about 12:56 p.m. on the northbound lanes of the freeway, south of Oak Hill Road.
Investigating officers determined the crash involved a Honda Accord and a tractor-trailer.
The Honda was then carrying three adults and two children. It rolled several times and rested on its side along the freeway’s shoulder.
Rescuers took Ehlani to the Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville, with where she was pronounced dead.
Moreover, the San Bernardino County Fire requested two helicopters to airlift a young boy and an adult female with critical injuries to trauma centers.
Officers said Barraba’s mother and father were not injured in the accident.
The driver of a big rig remained at the scene and cooperated with CHP officers. He was not injured in the I-15 accident.
The Victorville CHP Station is investigating the deadly rear-end accident.
