Efren Cordova Vazquez Kills in Riverside Collision

Riverside, CA (December 04, 2021) – On Thursday, Efren Cordova Vazquez of Compton died in a vehicle crash on Buena Vista Avenue.

The fatal crash took place at about 2:40 p.m. at the intersection with Indian Hill Road, at Mission Inn Avenue.

Officers said a 19-year-old Compton man was at the wheel of a westbound 2002 Lexus with Vazquez as the front seat.

The driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. It crossed over into eastbound lanes and crashed with a 2015 Nissan Sentra.

Moreover, the Lexus struck a block wall, overturned, and crashed with an eastbound 2015 Toyota Camry before it started a fire.

The emergency responders completely extinguished the flames 30 minutes later.

However, they pronounced Cordova Vazquez dead at the crash scene.

Meanwhile, the paramedics took the Lexus driver to Riverside Community Hospital with moderate injuries, along with the Toyota’s driver and passenger with minor injuries.

Officers said the Nissan driver did not sustain injuries from the incident.

The authorities are still investigating this crash. They have not ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors in the accident.
