1 Person Killed in Pasco Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 182 near Volpentest Bridge
PASCO, WA (March 2, 2021) – On Monday, Edwina Steward died and Kylie Cushing suffered injuries in a crash on Interstate 182.
According to Washington State Patrol, the incident happened at around 2:40 p.m. on Interstate 182 near Volpentest Bridge.
Reports revealed that 82-year-old Edwina Steward of Richland driving a westbound vehicle traveled in the eastbound lanes. Then, it collided with 16-year-old Kylie Cushing driving a vehicle. The Incident started a chain reaction crash that involves six vehicles.
Furthermore, responders pronounced Steward dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Cushing was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Also, the Washington Department of Transportation shut down all lanes of 182 eastbound to give way to the investigation.
Moreover, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. All six people involved in the crash wore seatbelts at the time of the incident, WSP added.
