38-Year-Old Edward John Quijada Dies in San Diego Pedestrian Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 24, 2019) – Thursday afternoon, a 38-year-old man identified as Edward John Quijada Jr. from San Diego died in a car accident.
Authorities reported the crash occurred around 6:00 PM on 805 Freeway near the University City area. Officials stated that Quijada was walking westbound across the northbound 805 Freeway transition ramp to Highway 52 when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with officers.
Neither drugs and alcohol were considered to be contributing factors. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
