Police Search the Hit-And-Run Driver after Crash on Loop 202 in Tempe
Tempe, AZ (May 24, 2022) – Thursday noon, motorcyclist Edward Newell sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Loop 202 near Scottsdale.
The hit-and-run crash in Tempe happened on May 19.
Police said Newell was heading to work Thursday around noon when a vehicle hit him and left him on the road.
DPS said that the driver is still at large. Newell said he was hit by a car he explained was a Mustang with some form of camo army wrap.
Newell has severe road rash all over his body, a fractured knee and tibia, and broken bones.
His doctors said he won’t be able to walk for another ten weeks. After that, he doesn’t know when he will be able to return to work. “I’m in bad shape, really bad shape,” Newell said.
