1 Person Dead in Tucson Auto Accident on North Stone Avenue and East Grant Road
TUCSON, AZ (September 6, 2023) – Saturday morning, Edward Lopez-Villalvazo died in a tragic two-vehicle crash on North Stone Avenue.
The incident happened at around 2:15 a.m. on northbound North Stone Avenue at East Grant Road.
According to the Tucson Police, a northbound 2010 Mazda 3 ran a red light for still unknown reasons and collided with an eastbound 2020 Volvo truck tractor that was pulling a 2022 utility trailer.
Moreover, officers confirmed that the 26-year-old Mazda driver died in the crash. Then, paramedics transported a female passenger of the Mazda to a hospital with serious injuries. Also, the Volvo driver was not hurt in the incident.
At this time, the cause of the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
