2 People Hurt in Twentynine Palms Traffic Accident on Twentynine Palms Highway and Cienega Drive

TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA (October 11, 2023) – Saturday night, Edward DeCastro and Cyrilo Martinez sustained injuries in a startling vehicle crash on Twentynine Palms Highway.

The incident happened at around 7:25 p.m. at the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Cienega Drive.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, two vehicles collided at the intersection for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, responding firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated one driver who was trapped inside the wreckage. Then, Morongo Basin Ambulance transported the driver to Desert Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. Also, Morongo Basin Ambulance transported the second driver to Hi-Desert Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers identified the two drivers as, 23-year-old DeCastro, and 42-year-old Cyrilo Martinez.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
