Eduardo Trujillo Fatally Struck on Vernon Avenue [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (August 12, 2022) – On July 28, Eduardo Trujillo, 33, sustained fatal injuries in a hit-and-run collision on Vernon Avenue.

It was about 1:30 a.m. when the fatal incident occurred at Towne Avenue.

According to the witnesses, they saw Trujillo lying on the roadway prior to him being struck by the vehicles.

“As the witnesses attempted to get Trujillo off the street, a dark pickup truck ran over Trujillo,” an officer says in a statement. “The driver of the truck did not stop to render aid and identify him or herself. Moments later, a second vehicle ran over Trujillo, and the second driver did stop to render aid.”

The paramedics immediately responded and declared Trujillo dead at the scene.

“It was originally reported that there were two possible gunshot wounds discovered on Trujillo’s body and the investigation was treated as a possible homicide,” the officer added.

Moreover, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office conducted an autopsy on Trujillo’s remains on August 2.

“The examination concluded that the two holes on Trujillo’s body were neither gunshot wounds nor stab wounds,” the officer says. “The examination could not conclude how the wounds were caused. The coroner’s office reclassified the death from `homicide’ to `accidental.”’

Meanwhile, there is a standing reward of up to $50,000 offered by the city of Los Angeles for details that will help solve a fatal hit-and-run case.
