Eduardo Arizmendi Deaquinos Arrested in Suspected DUI Crash on Wood Street [Taft, CA]

Taft, CA (October 31, 2024) On Monday afternoon, 30-year-old Eduardo Arizmendi Deaquinos of Taft was arrested after a horrific traffic crash on Wood Street.

According to authorities, the suspected DUI crash happened at the intersection with Naylor Avenue, around 4:30 p.m.

Reports say that the Taft man faces felony charges for drunk driving following a traffic accident on Monday afternoon at the intersection of Wood Street and Naylor Avenue, which injured two women.

Deaquinos, was arrested and remained in custody at the Kern County Jail in Lerdo on Tuesday morning with a bail set at $20,000. He did not sustain any injuries in the accident.

Officials say that Deaquinos was driving a compact car that collided with a four-door sedan occupied by a driver and a front-seat passenger.

After the collision, the sedan crashed into a fence, prompting Kern County firefighters to use hydraulic extrication tools to free the two women trapped inside.

Paramedics transported both women to a Bakersfield hospital, where they received treatment for minor to moderate injuries.
