70-Year-Old Shoreline Man Injured and 27-Year-Old Vancouver Man Arrested near the State Route 201 Interchange
EDMONDS, WA (March 8, 2018) – On Thursday afternoon around 1 PM, a hit-and-run accident on 244th Street Southwest and Highway 99, resulted in one injury and one arrest.
According to Edmonds Police Sgt. Shane Hawley, a police officer tried to stop a man in a silver Hyundai after a traffic violation on 9th Avenue South. The driver took off, but the officer decided not to pursue him due to congested traffic in the streets.
The same driver was involved in a car accident a few minutes later with a Ford Explorer, driven by a 70-year-old Shoreline man. He sustained minor injuries and was inspected by emergency personnel on scene. The suspect fled on foot towards the Aurora Village shopping center and was arrested by Seattle Police when an off-duty officer witnessed the incident and followed him. He is facing hit-and-run and drug charges.
