Edith Honer Dead, Margret Schilling Injured in Murrieta Accident on Interstate 15 On-Ramp
MURRIETA, CA (November 15, 2020) – Sunday morning, 88-year-old Edith Mary Honer died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 and Murrieta Hot Springs Road.
Moreover, her passenger Margret Schilling sustained major injuries in the I-15 on ramp accident.
The fatal crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. on the northbound side of the Murrieta Hot Springs Road on-ramp.
According to recent reports, Ms. Honer stood outside of the driver’s side of a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. It is unknown why the victims’ vehicle was stopped on the on-ramp.
Then, a BMW sedan came up behind and struck the vehicle, in effect hitting Edith Mary Honer.
Thus, personnel from the Riverside County coroner’s office responded to the scene.
Wildomar resident Audra Valverde, 28, drove the sedan into the two elderly women’s Hyundai.
Consequently, paramedics pronounced Murrieta resident Edith Honer dead at the scene, and Ms. Schilling, of Wildomar, was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center.
At this time, the authorities haven’t clarified the cause of the crash, and no arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, the crash led to the closure of the on-ramp for around three hours during the investigation. However, the road has since reopened.
