Edgar Chamu Martinez Dies in Crash on Jackrabbit Trail in Buckeye

Buckeye, AZ (November 18, 2021) – Tuesday night, a 28-year-old Edgar Chamu Martinez died in a crash on Jackrabbit Trail.

The fatal crash in Buckeye happened just after 11 p.m. on November 16 on Jackrabbit Trail, close to Van Buren Street.

 Buckeye police found Martinez dead with signs of trauma consistent with being struck by a car.

Meanwhile, the driver involved in the accident returned to the scene to speak with officers. 

Police said the driver was being investigated for possible impairment. The involved driver was later released from custody with pending toxicology results. 

Further investigation is underway.
