Edgar Castillo of Elk Grove Killed in Mountain View Road Rollover Collision [Mendocino County, CA]

Mendocino County, CA (January 9, 2022) – On Saturday, Edgar Castillo, 37, of Elk Grove, died, while his passenger sustained injuries following a Mountain View Road rollover collision.

The authorities received the collision report at about 7:50 a.m. in the 4100 block area.

When rescuers arrived, they extricated Edgar Castillo and his passenger from a utility service truck that had gone off the roadway.

Unfortunately, officers declared the driver, Edgar Castillo, dead at the scene.

The paramedics rushed the passenger to a hospital on the coast in critical condition. Then, they took the injured passenger to another Sonoma County hospital.

Capt. Gregory Van Patten, the Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said Mendocino County has received a lot of rain and wind recently, which could have been a factor in the crash. 

Reports say that Castillo and the passenger were working for Mountain F Enterprises, a company contracted by PG&E to help with the utility’s storm response.

They were headed to Point Arena to perform vegetation management work when Castillo lost control of the vehicle and rolled over off the roadway.

Meanwhile, the CHP is investigating the Mendocino Road accident.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for Castillo’s funeral expenses.
