Injuries Reported in Marion County Fatal Collision
Marion County, TX (July 6, 2023) – At about 8:55 a.m. on Monday, Eddie Bell, 32, of Marshall, and Jasmin Griffin, 25, of Jefferson, were killed in an FM 2208 vehicle collision.
The traffic collision happened approximately one mile south of Jefferson.
Investigating officers said Griffin was westbound when she drove into the intersection with U.S. Highway 59.
Her vehicle crashed into a 2015 Peterbilt Truck Tractor towing a trailer driven by Steven Hendrix, 58, of Douglassville. Griffin’s Dodge Journey rolled over and then collided with a vehicle driven by Steven Brady, 61, of Pittsburg.
Hendrix and Brady were transported to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview for sustaining incapacitating injuries.
Unfortunately, Griffin was declared dead at the scene while one of her passengers, Eddie Bell, was declared dead at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport later the same day. A second passenger, a 5-year-old from Jefferson, incurred non-incapacitating injuries and was rushed to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall.
In the meantime, the authorities are still investigating the Marion County fatal collision.
