Officers Search for East Street Hit-and-Run Crash Suspect
Wilmington, CA (April 19, 2022) – On Saturday, a homeless woman, Olivia Espinoza, 56, sustained fatal injuries in an East Street hit-and-run crash.
The accident happened at about 1:45 a.m. at the corner of Figueroa Place.
Officers say Espinoza was sleeping on the sidewalk when she was struck by a white GMC SUV that drove off the roadway.
Espinoza incurred injuries and died at the accident scene.
Meanwhile, the involved driver abandoned the vehicle at the scene. Witnesses said the suspect fled eastbound in a Nissan Altima.
The authorities did not provide any description of the suspect driver.
Meanwhile, there is a standing reward of up to $50,000 from the city of Los Angeles for details that would help solve a fatal hit-and-run.
