89-Year-Old Woodside Man Dies after Struck by Car on 100 Block of Old County Road
BELMONT, CA (February 8, 2018) – An elderly man from Woodside was struck and killed by a car on the 100 block of Old County Road on Thursday night around 6:30 PM.
A blue Toyota Corolla was traveling down Old County Rd, when it hit a 89-year-old man. The victim was identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as Earnest Goldau. The driver stayed at the crash site and contacted emergency personnel.
According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the man was found lying in the road when officials arrived at the scene of the crash. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to Stanford Hospital, where is was later pronounced dead.
The fatal pedestrian accident is still under investigation, but drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors. If you have any additional information, contact Sgt.
