2 Injured in Kansas City Auto Accident on Highway 50 and Outer Belt Road
KANSAS CITY, MO (September 22, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, Earl Harriss and Sydnie Victor were hurt in a crash on Highway 50.
Reports said that the incident occurred at about 12:40 p.m. on Highway 50 and Outer Belt Road, east of Lone Jack.
First responders reported that Emily E. Matter, 20, of Stewartsville, was driving her 2015 Chevrolet Cruze when she failed to yield before entering the highway. This led to a collision with a 2000 Ford F150, driven by Harriss, 69, of Lee’s Summit, which struck the driver’s side of Matter’s vehicle.
State Troopers stated that Derek J. Foreman, 31, of Clinton, was driving his 2022 Toyota Tundra on the highway when the crash occurred. Although Foreman attempted to slow down, his vehicle was rear-ended by a 2023 Toyota Camry, driven by Victor, 27, of Whiteman Air Force Base.
Emergency crews transported Harriss and Victor to Lee’s Summit Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. It remains unclear if Harriss was wearing his seatbelt during the crash, though all other individuals involved were properly restrained. No additional information has been released.
