2 Teens Hospitalized in Solo-Vehicle Accident near Wanda Avenue
SIMI VALLEY, CA (November 13, 2018) – Two 18-year-old teens were hospitalized after a traffic accident on Alamo Street and Wanda Avenue, early Tuesday morning. One of the involved parties was identified as 18-year-old Dylan Smallis of Simi Valley.
According to Simi Valley Police officials, the solo-vehicle collision took place around 12:37 AM, on Alamo Street and Wanda Avenue. Smallis was driving a 1963 Chevy Bel Air when he swerved off the road and hit a tree.
Smallis sustain significant injuries to his head and face. His passenger, an 18-year-old male, was found unconscious. Both Smallis and the other teen were rushed to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center. Their current medical conditions are unknown at this time.
Officials said the vehicle was not equipped with seat belts, and they were able to determine that Smallis had been under the influence when the collision occurred. He will be charged with a felony DUI and arrested once he is released from the hospital. No further information has been disclosed at this time.
