13-year-Old Skaterboarder Hospitalized after Struck by DUI Driver in Hesperia
HESPERIA, CA (August 10, 2019) – A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing into a skateboarder late Saturday afternoon in Hesperia.
The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 18000 block of Dunkirk Street, near Windsor Avenue.
Deputies responded to the area after receiving reports that a 13-year-old male was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene of the accident. The teen was struck by the vehicle as he attempted to cross the road on his skateboard.
Paramedics took the juvenile to Desert Valley Hospital with a minor road rash to his left side.
The driver, Dylan Blaine Landtiser, 27, reportedly stayed on scene for a bit until he left without exchanging any information.
Deputies found Landtiser nearby and arrested him for driving under the influence. His preliminary arraignment is schedule inside a Victorville courtroom on August 19, 2019.
