Female Passenger Sustains Injuries in I-5 DUI Crash
Whatcom County, WA (August 09, 2022) – On Sunday, the authorities arrested 20-year-old Dylan Ferry of Blaine, in a suspected DUI crash on Interstate 5 injuring his 19-year-old female passenger from Ferndale.
It was about 10:17 p.m. when the traffic incident took place near milepost 273 and south of Peace Portal Drive.
According to the investigators, the 19-year-old woman was a passenger in a 2010 white Toyota Corolla driven by Ferry.
that struck another disabled car involved in an earlier crash, the Washington State Patrol report on the incident states.
At the same time, a white Volkswagen Jetta was disabled on the southbound freeway from a previous collision. The occupants of the Jetta exited the vehicle at that time.
The Corolla driven by Ferry of Blaine was southbound. However, it collided with the disabled Jetta. It rested on its top in the median and the Jetta was pushed to the right shoulder.
Moreover, the paramedics rushed Dylan Ferry‘s passenger to St. Joseph’s hospital in Bellingham.
Officers say Ferry and his passenger were both wearing seat belts when the collision happened.
In the meantime, officers believe that drugs or alcohol are believed were involved in the traffic incident. Whatcom County Jail records indicate that Ferry was booked on suspicion of vehicular assault and driving with a suspended license at 2:48 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8.
